  • Condition: EXCELLENT! Not much to cite regarding flaws. No Cracks or Repairs. Only light surface scratches here/there as one would expect on any guitar ever played; nothing serious. Some wear in first position on fretboard; again, as expected from nearly 50 years of playing. Heel Joint is Tight. Body is Tight. Neck is Straight. Bridge is Secure. This guitar appears to have been babied.

    Description

    Submitted for your consideration is a 1974 ALHAMBRA Classical Guitar, made in Muro de Alcoy, Alicante, Spain. Includes a Hard Shell Case, also purchased new in 1974. The guitar is Full-Size, measuring 39" in length. Receipts, Tags, Paperwork, including the customs duty for shipment in 1974, are all still inside the case. As you can see from photo of label in sound-hole, this guitar was completed on February 28th of 1974.
    Both guitar and case are in excellent condition; especially the guitar. Not much to cite regarding flaws - save for evidence of some wear in first position on fretboard. This is to be expected with a near 50-year-old guitar, and merely confirms it as "broken in". 😉
    Solid Red Cedar Top, Laminate Rosewood Back & Sides, Mahogany Neck, 19 Frets, Gold-Plated Machine Heads, Slotted Tuners with Ivoroid Buttons and *Ebony Fretboard, are also found on the Alhambra 4p model, but 1974 was prior to Alhambra's use of model numbers.
    *Fretboard could be Rosewood, but think it's Ebony if only for the hang-tag (final pic) that is written in hand as follows - "Alhambra EBANO - 4" (
    ebano
    means ebony in Spanish).

    I recently purchased this full-size classical guitar and hard shell case at an estate sale. The paperwork still in case suggests there may have been just one owner. However, the strings are relatively fresh, indicating someone must have been playing this guitar fairly recently. There is also an ancient Tuning Fork included in pick box. Am just a flat-picker, but found this guitar extremely resonate.
