JAPANESE VINTAGE LARGE ROSEWOOD BUTSUDAN BUDDHIST FAMILY ALTAR COMPLETE

$ 950.4

Availability: 100 in stock

Description

This is a very large (and heavy) butsudan (family Buddhist shrine) made of what appears to be rosewood.  It comes apart in two sections (top and bottom).  It is made of solid rosewood and probably weighs in excess of 160 pounds.
There are several drawers as well as sliding doors and a pull out offering table (see picture 11).  There are four bifold doors on the interior as well as exterior.  The interior doors have very fine lattice work in wood and silk.  It really has to be seen in person to fully appreciate.  A comparable new butsudan of this quality runs over ,000 today.
The color of the rosewood is a bit between my lightest and darkest colors.  More pictures up coming or available upon request.
It stands a combined total of 65 1/2" (166 cm) by 24" deep (60 cm) by 26" wide (66 cm).
