    Description

This 1970 No. 10 from Masaru Kohno is in great shape for a guitar that's 50 years old! Sound is excellent and just what you'd expect from Kohno.  Even though it's a cedar top with rosewood  back and sides, it's not necessarily dark in tone and is actually very clean and clear without being overly bright. I purchased the guitar here in Nashville from Gruhn's and it was the best sounding of all the classical guitars in stock, including some that were twice the price and built by other respected luthiers.  This one just had the sound! Scale is 660 and the action is very comfortable with the 12th fret at 3.5 mm on the low E and 2.5mm on the high E.  But, there is plenty of room on the saddle to lower it if you wanted. The neck is straight with the two ebony strips for stability and after 50 years, I'd say it's not moving! It does have a few very, very minor finger nail marks around the sound hole that are impossible to see unless you hold it in just the right light and some marks on the lower side, possibly from a suction cup style knee support or something, but other than that, for 50 years old, I'd say it's in excellent shape cosmetically.  I'm not the first owner so I don't know the guitars history, but there were no repairs listed at Gruhns and if something had been done, George certainly would've seen and noted it. Since I've owned the guitar, I've had it set up once and always kept it in a humidity controlled room. Comes with the hard case that it came to me with.  If you're looking for a great Kohno, this one might be it! Thanks for taking a look and feel free to ask any questions.
