He was a street orphan who became a Ships designer and author of many books especially on his beloved model airplanes, cars and ships. He was also Scientific models prolific designer of almost all of their built up, hollow log, and profile control line model kits we loved so much.
This book takes a beginner through the process of collecting tools and supplies to build and fly seven different models starting with a control line trainer and running the gamut from a stunt and then scale c/l model to a simple radio controlled model and ending with a ducted fan jet model. Other models such as rubber are included as well. He is with you every step of the way from start to finish on each and every model and it's like having a private trainer or coach there with you to complete each step by preparing the plans and materials for each build and to construct, finish and trim every single model for flight. This covers everything you need to know including the engines and installation of them as well as the mechanicals needed for each, really everything you could ask for or think of.
Unfortunately these books are rare and are very expensive. I see another on ebay right now offered at 0. and others on the internet for much more than that so I feel I am offering this at a fair price. In any case google Walter's name and read his amazing autobiography !
