Victorian Women's Green Wool Equestrian Riding Habit Pants & Sidesaddle Skirt
This rare antique Victorian era women's green wool equestrian riding habit pants and side saddle skirt date from 1890. It is made of a dark forest green color heavy felted wool fabric. This classic women's equestrian riding habits include a side saddle full skirt, longer on one side with pleated gathering drape, with a bottom front loop sewn underneath to slip the boot into keeping the skirt from flying up, a side opening with button closure on the brown cotton twill waistband and is unlined. The skirt measures 43 inches long in the front. 47 inches long in the back, with a 22 inch waist and 60 inch hips. Included are a pair of matching fabric riding pants long trousers to completely cover the legs resembling mens pants of the era, with a full bottom backside, side opening with button closure on the brown cotton twill waistband and are unlined. The pants measure 40 inches long, with a 27 inch inseam, 22 inch waist and 48 inch hips. It is in good as-is condition, with some tiny moth holes, faint discoloration stains and a small mended repair on the bottom back skirt, pants backside (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of antique Victoriana womens habits equestrian riding sportswear wearable art!
