VINTAGE JAPANESE DECORATIVE ASIAN / TANSU BRASS HARDWARE ORNATE BUTTERFLY HINGE

Description

​A decorative solid brass hinge for the front of a small door on a tansu or butsudan.
This is set so the door would open out or in the case of a chest would open up.

On a tansu this would be the hinge to open a small door (Usually at the bottom) with other drawers behind it.
It's 8 inches wide and 6 inches tall.( 20.5 X 15 cm)
It's solid brass.
We don't know its age. We've cleaned the dirt off but left the aged patina.
